Jude Lamph

Gardening for Gorillas offers a glimpse into the role of the zoo horticulturalist, detailing the successes and failures of the various scenarios Stephen has faced in a long career at Dublin zoo. Through his book, he has achieved an excellent balance of engaging storylines and very useful knowledge. The knowledge he provides is supported with real-world examples and the outcomes of its practical application with a high degree of transparency. As someone beginning a career in this field, it is likely that this book will become a very important resource and one I will return to frequently for guidance. Gardening for gorillas has set the stage for a new area of literature regarding the field of zoo horticulture, it is hoped that this book will encourage more work of this nature as it is truly a fascinating subject.
